The unique Rawhide/KG Group strategic operating partnership
The joint Rawhide/KG Group captive operations center is located within a special economic zone created by KG in Coimbatore, India. This 180 acre technology park was specifically recognized by the World Bank Group in their annual report: “KG Group has been able to attract Cognizant, Dell, and Bosch to its special economic zone, amassing 20,000 jobs. Cognizant, which employs 10,000, is looking to add space to employ up to 60,000 in the next three to five years. What cities can learn KG Group filled the role conventionally played by an economic development agency.”
This technology park is also home to five KG operated colleges and hospitals as well as offices for over 100 multinational corporations. The campus has created an unparalleled infrastructure including self-contained, redundant, and secure utilities, transportation, communication, and office facilities. Many of the resources used for the outsourcing activities are graduates of these colleges. Rawhide is currently headquartered in Ottawa Hills, Ohio but all enhanced outsourcing operations are conducted in India on campus except for project management, client coordination, legal affairs, and financial oversight.
Both organizations have adopted a philosophy requiring the recognition of community service and philanthropy in concert with corporate profits. To that end, KG Group has provided more than 100,000 free cataract surgeries including assuming the family expenses for travel and housing during the procedure. Rawhide has been a supporter of these activities as well as a sponsor for Assistance Dogs of America including the building of breeding and training facilities. In addition, KG has been a leader in alternative green energy sources and Rawhide has underwritten research projects in Indoor Air quality parameters for education facilities.
